Quercus robur (Common Oak)

 

A tall, broad, rugged tree with lobed, matt green leaves. There is golden-brown autumn colour, and of course, acorns which are held on long stalks. One of the longest lived trees. This tree is hardy and happy in most soil types.
Height 30m (98ft), Spread 25m (82ft), 20-50 years to maturity.
