An upright, clump-forming, herbaceous perennial with finely divided, hairy, dark to grey-green leaves and, from late spring until early summer, erect, bristly stems bearing large, bright orange-red flowers with black central blotches.
Height 1.2m (4ft), Spread 1m (3ft), 1-2 years to maturity.
