Paeonia suffruticosa 'Houki' (Tree Peony)

 

A clump-forming perennial shrub with divided, deep green leaves that turn bronze and purple in autumn. In late spring, it bears large, sweetly fragrant, double, ruby-red flowers with golden stamens.
Height 1.5m (5ft), Spread 1.2m (4ft), 10-20 years to maturity.
