A small tree with arching or drooping branches that are clad in great pom-pom clusters of deep pink, multi-petalled flowers. The young foliage is slightly bronzed, maturing to a glossy pale green for the summer. On large specimens, the arching or drooping branches can touch the ground. It flowers in April and the floral show goes well into May.
